Intelligent Mobility, in a very simple way, is to move people and goods in an easier, more efficient and ecological way. The concept draws on new ideas and new technologies to move beyond traditional approaches to heavy infrastructure transport and instead present innovative ways to improve mobility and make travel better and more accessible for all.
Otherwise, we can say that the concept of Intelligent Mobility arises from the intersection of the following factors:
- Growing population expectations in terms of ease of mobility between any two points on the planet, at any time;
- Growth of the sharing economy: I want to be able to use the goods, not necessarily own them;
- Widespread availability of advanced information, communication and sensing technologies on board modern vehicles;
- Creation of communication and processing road infrastructures, dedicated to supporting intelligent transport.
