The climate emergency and the pandemic pose the challenge to cities of promoting a green and digital transition capable of responding to them and simultaneously ensuring the quality of life for those who live, work or visit them. This is also the ambition of the United Nations SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities – which alerts us to the need for urban spaces to be inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable.
It was discussed in this 3rd webinar how Portugal and its cities are promoting the digital, smart and sustainable transition, addressing issues such as:
  • How to establish new models of governance, more participated and with public policies built with more and better information?
  • Will it be possible to reconcile the construction of the cognitive and analytical city taking advantage of the digital transition with the necessary preservation of the human city focused on the citizen?
  • Will it be possible to ensure a change in habits and behavior in order to promote the green transition?
  • Can we make Portugal and its cities and towns a Smart Nation?
