As in previous editions, ANI – Agência Nacional de Inovação is once again associated with AIIA, to award the Born From Knowledge prize to the best finalist project “born from knowledge”. The award was given to IPLEXMED.

This year there were nine finalists in the competition, chosen from 125 project applications, a record number of entries. The AIIA, which this year included Ireland as a guest country, promotes and recognizes entrepreneurship and technological talent, with more than 500 applications received, a total prize of more than 460 thousand euros, since its first edition.

Alcino Lavrador, General Director of Altice Labs, left a special thanks to the participants, jury and to the partners in Ireland. He stressed that the AIIA awards “recognize the work of academia, startups and also inclusion projects. Innovation and Altice should be words that go hand in hand”.

The winners of the AIIA 2022

Startup: Inclusio
A platform that combines technology, behavioral science and Artificial Intelligence and allows an organization’s employees to confidentially build their diversity profile. It enables companies to measure and track the dimensions of neuro-diversity, disability and work experience, enabling the development of more inclusive policies and the adjustment and accommodation of the different dimensions of the human experience in the work context.

Inclui by Fundação Altice: Dreamwaves
Audio Augmented Reality-based navigation solution that can benefit visually impaired users, seniors and also cyclists and motorcyclists. It integrates hands-free navigation through spatial audio, Augmented Reality and localization, using Machine Learning models. Virtual sound points are heard as real objects, allowing the user to easily walk to each sound source.

Academy: Dynamic Defense for Softwarized and Virtualized Networks
Innovative approach to address the current scenario of prevalence of Cybersecurity risks that combines Moving Target Defense and Two-Factor Authentication techniques. It foresees the creation of a network defense/authentication layer that will move the attack surface observing the available configurations and thus preventing or hindering the attack process. This project addresses the increasingly relevant topic of cybersecurity in operator networks with much of their functions performed in software and virtualized in the cloud.

Born From Knowledge Distinction: IPLEXMED
Platform that allows the non-invasive diagnosis, in home context, of clinical and resistant respiratory infections, through a portable electronic Rapid Diagnostic Test, with connectivity, which allows the display of results on the patient’s smartphone and the storage and transmission of health data for access in real time by the doctor, enabling an appropriate personalized treatment.
