Media Play 23 – DeCA

On March 15th, Media Play 2023 took place at the Department of Communication and Art (DeCA) of the University of Aveiro, an event based on a showcase of multimedia work by students from the three cycles of studies in the area of Communication Sciences and Technologies, organized by the respective course directors.

Media Play 2023 saw the participation of 15 very heterogeneous teams with between 1 and 5 members. At the end, in order to appreciate the students’ commitment, prizes were awarded to the most promising projects. The winners were chosen by a jury made up of the academic community (students and teachers/researchers) and companies represented at the event.

Based on the idea behind this initiative, and with a view to fostering a closer relationship with the University of Aveiro and its students, Altice Labs, with the help of Daniela Rei and Carlos Figueiredo, employees of the Innovation and Digital Strategy Department, supported the organization of Media Play 23 by awarding a prize to one of the winning teams.

The winning team of the “Disruptive Prize”, awarded by Altice Labs, was the EMME team, made up of students Gabriel Ribeira and Mariana Marques, both from the Degree in Multimedia and Communication Technologies. The duo was awarded a visit to Altice Labs’ facilities, merchandising and two vouchers worth €100.
