Altice Labs and Altice Portugal participated on the 12th, 13th and 14th of September in the international symposium “Cyber and Disruptive Technologies: PESCO and EDF Projects Common Approach”.

This symposium, held at the S. Julião da Barra Fort in Oeiras, brought together a range of authorities from the State, EU, NATO, National Defense, universities and industry, to explore common approaches to the various projects and initiatives in the broad scope of cyber defense.

Altice Labs, represented by Rui Calé, from the company’s Innovation Strategy and Digital department, made a technical presentation on the theme “Robustness, Resilience and Reliability in SDN”, in which he explored the contribution of Software Defined Networks (SDN) for robustness resilience and reliability of networks, but also the challenges that this approach poses, framing it in strategic, operational and tactical defense networks, according to the work of the DISCRETION project of the EDIDP (European Defense Industrial Development) program, in which Altice Labs participates.

Gerardo Ângelo, from Altice Portugal, participated in the panel “Telecoms and Disruptive Technologies”, with a presentation in which he was able to state the company’s interest and business perspectives in disruptive technologies, such as QKD (Quantum Distribution of Cryptographic Keys).
