Altice Labs promotes and invests in a close relationship with the University of Algarve, among other prestigious higher education institutions in Portugal.

The partnership with this prestigious teaching unit, took place in this first semester of the 2020-21 school year with a Workshop on Optical Fiber (2 sessions – theoretical and practical component) for undergraduate and master students in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and with the supply of 2 FPGAs development kits for support in Electronics classes.

These FPGAs will allow the students of the University of Algarve, to develop their electronic circuit designs using integrated circuits programmable in the laboratory, thus giving them great flexibility and the ability to use professional material. It will also help to bring the students closer to the real market, bringing them closer to the business environment where they can apply their acquired knowledge.

For the second semester, there is already an agreement for a Workshop on 5G and a visit to the facilities of an Altice Telecommunications Centre.
