Inovação@UC – Coimbra
The “Inovação@UC – Coimbra” initiative stands out as an essential catalyst for promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in the region. Through this dynamic platform, the Universidade de Coimbra reinforces its commitment to creating an environment conducive to the development of innovative ideas and the emergence of entrepreneurial projects.
In this context, Altice Labs was present on December 5 as a company that catalyzes innovation in the field of Telecommunications, with the opportunity to engage with students from various fields of study to promote the company’s internship opportunities and showcase its internal culture.
Additionally, with the support of professors Tiago Martins, Penousal Machado, and the rest of the team from the Department of Informatics Engineering, it was possible to carry out demos and present demonstrators related to the innovation field, in which Altice Labs is involved. Raquel Pinheiro, an intern from the Innovation Strategy and Digital Department, was present at the event.
Workshop “How to build a CV” – ESTGA-UA
Altice Labs was present at the Escola Superior de Tecnologia e Gestão de Águeda (ESTGA) on December 7, promoting an enriching workshop dedicated to the creation of Curriculum Vitae (CV) for the students in the bachelor’s degree in Secretariat and Business Communication at the Universidade de Aveiro (UA).
The goal was to provide participants with theoretical and practical knowledge about the CV, discuss the essential elements that should be included in it, highlight the most common gaps identified, and provide valuable insights on how to stand out in interviews.
The active participation of 14 students contributed to a dynamic and interactive environment, enriching participants on the subject and empowering them with essential tools and information to effectively highlight their qualifications and skills in the job market. This workshop featured André Carvalho from the People and Organization department.
Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering – Universidade de Coimbra
On December 12, Altice Labs participated in two technology dissemination sessions at the Universidade de Coimbra, associated with the “Next Generation Transport and Access Networks” subject of the “Master’s Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering”, “Telecommunications specialty”.
Fernando Morgado, from the Strategy and Innovation department, gave a presentation on access networks supported by optical fiber, tracing their evolution to the present day and envisioning their future developments. There was also a practical session on optical infrastructures.
Companies Day/Job Fair – IPV
On December 13, Altice Labs participated in the Instituto Politécnino de Viseu’s (IPV) Companies Day.
In addition to the company’s stand, which served as a meeting point between professionals and around 30 enthusiastic students, the institutional presentation, given by Raquel Pinheiro, provided an in-depth insight into Altice Labs’ mission, values, and contributions to the technological sector.
The Genius program, focused on promoting innovation and creative thinking, was the center of attention at the stand. Throughout the event, the interaction between the company’s representatives and the visiting students was enriching, providing a conducive environment for networking. The young participants were also able to ask questions about academic and summer internship opportunities, aiming to boost their professional careers through innovative projects.
Altice Labs’ active participation in IPV’s Companies Day not only strengthened the ties between the company and the academic institution but also helped to spark interest in various areas among future professionals in Computer Engineering and Multimedia.
