As part of the logOUT initiatives, 26 collaborators of Altice Labs headed to Gouvinhas (Sabrosa) in the heart of Alto Douro Wine Region, to visit one of the best wine estates in Portugal: “Quinta do Crasto”. Quinta do Crasto, given its location, enjoys exceptional conditions for the production of wines and oils of the highest quality.

On the way, the group stopped at Régua to have lunch and relax. This visit was organized to promote the Eno-Analytics project, a partnership between Altice Labs and the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, and was attended by Filipe Cabral Pinto from the Technology and Innovation Strategy department of Altice Labs, responsible for the project, to explain its goals and implementation.

This project aims to build an intelligent system capable of, on the one hand, supporting the identification of the vine varieties of Maria Teresa Vineyard from Quinta do Crasto and, on the other, predicting the quality of the wine taking into account Machine Learning tools and heterogeneous data related to viticulture.

Upon arrival at Quinta do Crasto, a visit, divided into 3 groups, took place where there was an opportunity to follow the wine making process, at a time when the Quinta was still in the harvest stage, going on to the long-awaited wine tasting. One of the parts that most enchanted the participants was the amazing landscape that accompanied them during the visit.
