On the 29th May, Altice Labs welcomed a group of students from the Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics Department (DETI) of the University of Aveiro (UA). This visit was organized by the Electronics, Telecommunications and Telematics Association of the University of Aveiro (AETTUA) and the IEEE UA Student Branch with the purpose of knowing the technological company, the work model and the activity areas of Altice Labs.

The visit began with a brief presentation by Helena Margarida (SRP) and Paulo Margaça (EIT), where the history of Altice Labs throughout the evolution of telecommunications in the country and the world, its characterization and differentiation, and the products and services developed, were the various topics addressed. The students group then took a guided tour of the campus to see some of the important milestones and the latest developments in products and solutions.

The students were always interacting and expressing interest in what was being presented to them, giving several testimonies such as “the visit was very well organized, because everyone was prepared for the theme they spoke about. Future Labs was a space that I liked quite a lot besides the projects presented there…” and ” … what I liked the most was the museum and the electronics part, since I’m from Electronics…”.

For the president of AETTUA, Rafael Direito, the visit went quite well “we were able to see Altice Labs from a completely new perspective, we didn’t have a clear idea of the engineering that was being done here. This allows our students to have a much wider vision of what Altice Labs is, allowing them to broaden their professional perspectives for the future”.
