The 67th Tech Day, held on July 16, focused on the “Unified Communications” area, with the participation of two PT Inovação e Sistemas departments (Technological Coordination and Exploratory Innovation and Services and Platforms Networks) and WIT, a partner company. in this session projects and success stories of both companies were presented.
Nuno Silva (PT Inovação e Sistemas) opened the session by presenting an overview of the “Unified Communications” and the “Oi FaleFácil and Rich Communication Suite (RCS)” project. This was followed by the presentation of “Corporate Voice Services in the Cloud Era”, by Cláudio Lobo (PT Inovação e Sistemas).
Also within the PT Inovação e Sistemas, Paulo Chainho presented the “The 8th WONDER: WebRTC, the catalyst for a post-IMS Architecture” project, giving a perspective of the evolution and potential of this topic.
André Silva (WIT) continued the approach to the WebRTC technology, speaking particularly of its advantages, but also about the difficulties in the implementation.
WIT is a company of software development for telecommunications, specialized in mobile applications. It was established in 2001 as a spin-off of the University of Coimbra.
