For the 7th consecutive year, PT Inovação e Sistemas attended the Sapo Cobetis, that reconvened national and international talents in the field of new technologies and Internet, during three days of programming, workshops and lectures.
The 2014 edition took place between April 10th and 12th at Meo Arena, in Lisbon. But, the big news was its expansion to PT Datacenter, in Covilhã.
Also, the UCodebits (University Codebits) featured the transmission of talks and workshops occurred on Sapo Codebits and the promotion of workshops coordinated by members of University of Beira Interior, Polytechnic Institute of Guarda and Castelo Branco and national technology startups.
Under the theme “Home & Well Being”, the PT Inovação e Sistemas stand showed technological demonstrations and two projects funded by COMPETE: AAL4ALL and Online-Gym.
The AAL@MEO demonstration is based on the AAL4ALL project, that aims to develop an ecosystem of AAL (Ambient Assisted Living) products and services. It demonstrates that is possible the monitoring of vital signs, MEO remote simulation through muscle movements (to persons with reduce mobility), schedule reminders (for example, to medication) and control fo home automation equipment connected to the TV through a MEO set up box.
The Online-Gym is a vitrual gym prototype, based on interaction through Kinect, on a 3D virtual scenario, with an Open Simulator platform.
Last but not least, PT Inovação e Sistemas also held a talk entitled “Web Real-Time Communication: (the 8th) WONDER”, in order to present the WONDER Framework and its usefulness in the development of WebRTC applications on an independent way from signaling protocols.
