Altice Labs was present with PT Empresas at the Innovation Lounge of the 26th APDC Congress, this year under the theme “Digital Economy and Citizenship”.
The theme of PT’s presence was Smartcities, considering our state of the art infrastructure, our innovation track record and technological know how, with focus on IoT Place, as well as the ability to establish and develop partnerships with the ecosystem of partners, suppliers, entrepreneurs and the public, local and central administrations.
The showroom was organized in two demonstration areas, one dedicated to Altice Labs and the other one to PT Empresas, an immersion space with a 360º virtual reality visit to Altice Labs with RIFT goggles and a premium area of content exhibition where IoT Place demonstrations were held, namely:

In addition to the demonstrations, videos were shown about the PT’s strategy for Smartcities, a BPO film made for Portugal Outsourcing, the promotion of the PT Innovation Award and IoT Challenge. It is worth noting the visualization of the network development laboratories done by his excellency the President of the Republic (Prof. Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa) in a 360º virtual reality environment.
Over the two days of the event, the most relevant themes of the sector were discussed with the participation of the main portuguese market players and international speakers. The study “Digital Economy in Portugal – The State of the Nation 2016” was launched during the Congress, a document with a characterization of the digital economy and society in Portugal, which involved 20 companies in the ICT and Media sectors and around 68 authors in a collaborative work.
