On the 13th May, Altice Labs welcomed a delegation from the Portuguese Navy, where a group of 4 students and 2 trainers from the Specialization Course on Communications Officers visited some of the company’s most emblematic places and projects.
This visit began with a brief presentation by Paulo Margaça, where the company’s history, along the evolution of telecommunications in the country and the world in the last 70 years, which characterizes and distinguishes the company, were some of the addressed themes. Next, a brief presentation on Products and Solutions was made by the five departments of Altice Labs: Technological Innovation Strategy (EIT) by Paulo Pereira, Digital Internet and Television (DIT) with Bernardo Cardoso, Network Systems Development (DSR) with Gil Brito, Network Services and Platforms (SRP) with João Pias and Operations Support System (SSO) with Manuel Aguiar.
After the presentation, the visitors group went on a guided tour of the campus to see important milestones and the latest developments in products and solutions. They visited the Optics Laboratory, Future Labs, Climate Testing Laboratory and Prototype Development Laboratory.
The visitors were always interacting and expressing interest in what was being exposed to them. On behalf of the whole group, First Lieutenant David Samuel Morgado gave his testimony: “First of all, thank you for the visit, because it is a plus for those who are in this area, or for those who are still training, because going to a campus or an organization where the state of the art is presented to us, whether at the level of communication equipment or even the service itself, is always enriching. Different concepts and ideas that are presented to us turn out to be a gain. So when we go home we all go with different ideas, with different projects that can be developed and, who knows, how to have a stronger partnership in the future”.
