Focus the international market and help SME’s to develop a culture of innovation are the two challenges that Armando Almeida, CEO of Portugal Telecom launched to PT Inovação e Sistemas team during a visit to Aveiro.
This visit to Aveiro is part of a national roadshow the CEO is doing through PT’s companies.
In Aveiro, the CEO had the opportunity to meet with the Technological Coordination and Exploratory Innovation team who daily promotes a culture of creativity and innovation throughout the entire company. In the area of Network Control and Service Platforms were presented the Global Connect and Active Campaign Manager tools for promotional campaigns which, for the CEO, have a strong potential of growth outside Portugal.
Digital Solutions, Smart Cities & IT Solutions; Operations Support Systems and Business Support Systems were also areas highlighted during this visit.
In the area of Connectivity, Armando Almeida got to know more about PT Inovação e Sistemas GPON, MPLS, QoS, and RF solutions; and also visited the laboratories of product development; microelectronics; manufacturing and quality control; production and product certification.
Training and Certifying
Training is of most importance and therefore PT Inovação e Sistemas invests heavily in telecommunications training and dissemination of knowledge. The certification area is also crucial for contributing to the industry’s recognition of our professionals and products.
Journey to the past
The company’s museum was the scenario for a trip back in time to some of the technologies in the origin of today’s world of telecommunications and which are the proof of the leap from the analogical to the digital world.
