The Penalva do Castelo Schools Group visited Altice Labs on the 23rd April 2018.

This study visit to Altice Labs occurred in the context of the training activities of the technical component of the two courses involved, namely in the disciplines of Applied Technologies and Electricity and Electronics discipline, in the case of the Electrotechnics Technician course (11th grade), and of Communication Networks and Programming of Computer Systems, in the case of the Computer Systems Management and Programming Technician course (12th grade).

In addition to welcoming, Arnaldo Santos from the Business Development Direction presented Altice Labs, its the history, vision and mission, the business areas, some of the projects currently under development, the value of its laboratories and the innovation culture that involves it.

This was followed by a guided tour to the Altice Labs campus, with particular emphasis on the Network Systems, with a visit to the tests and approvals laboratories and to the climate tests and prototypes development laboratories presented by Ricardo Cunha and António Melo and Sérgio Domingos, and to the Digital, Internet and Television services, with demonstration of the SmartAL product, by Ricardo Jorge Machado.

Future Labs was also visited with a demonstration of new prototypes such as the Smart Mirror, the Ultra TV solution and the latency impact demonstrator in future network applications, namely, 5G presented by Fernando Morgado.
