FEUP Engineering Days
Altice Labs was present as the Main Sponsor at the 9th edition of FEUP Engineering Days, held from March 4 to 7 at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP).
In this prestigious job fair organized by the FEUP Students’ Association (AEFEUP), students had the opportunity to participate in activities such as flash interviews, lectures, workshops, and networking. Among these activities, the workshop on Flutter App Development on March 5, titled “Mobile Flutter – Hands on Guide to App Development Flutter”, led by António Pereira from Altice Labs’ Innovation and Digital Strategy department, stood out.
The Altice Labs stand showcased optical network products, such as the FiberGateway router, the Wi-Fi Extender, and the Optical Line Terminal (OLT). It was also the stage for demonstrations of the BOTShool platform, conducted by Isabel Teixeira from the Network and Platforms Services Directorate (SRP31), and the Smart Home solution.
Throughout the event, the prominent presence of Altice Labs was ensured by various collaborators, who captivated and inspired more than 350 students from different engineering fields. Participation in FEUP Engineering Days reinforces Altice Labs’ commitment to attracting promising talents and providing enriching experiences that can boost students’ future careers in engineering and innovation.
UAlg Careers Fair – University of Algarve
The seventh edition of the UAlg Careers Fair was held on March 13, 2024, at the Pedagogical Complex of the Gambelas Campus of the University of Algarve. With the participation of around 70 companies, the main objective of the event was to facilitate the entry of UAlg students and graduates into the job market, offering support in the job search process and career development.
Among the exhibitors, the Altice Labs stand featured the presence of collaborators Célio Gomes de Abreu from the Network and Platforms Services department, and Fernando Afonso from the Innovation and Digital Strategy department. Their participation enriched the event by presenting the internship opportunities available at the company.
Altice Labs’ contribution was essential to the success of the seventh edition of the UAlg Careers Fair, providing valuable insights into the job market and assisting in the transition of students to the professional environment.
Tech Week: Electronics, Telecoms, and Aerospace
Tech Week: Electronics, Telecoms, and Aerospace was held from March 18 to 22, 2024, at the Department of Electronics, Telecommunications, and Informatics (DETI) of the University of Aveiro. This event was designed to strengthen the connections between companies, students, and the department, promoting direct interaction and knowledge exchange, with the aim of highlighting the value of students.
Altice Labs’ participation on March 20 and 21 involved interactions with around 30 students. On the first day, the stand featured the collaboration of intern Bruna Pires from the Network Systems Development department, along with members of the Human Resources team. On the second day, a lecture titled “5G Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN)” under the theme “Space for 5G” was conducted by Nuno Monteiro from Altice Labs’ Development of Advanced Connectivity Solutions department.
Tech Week was organized with the participation of three associations: DETI, the Academic Association of the University of Aveiro (AAUAV), and the Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering Students’ Association (NEEET). These entities played a crucial role in organizing and promoting the event.
Now What? – University of Coimbra
The Informatics Students’ Association of the Academic Association of Coimbra promoted the seventh edition of the event “Now What?” from March 19 to 21, 2024, a job fair held at the Department of Informatics Engineering of the University of Coimbra. The main objective of this event was to equip students of Informatics Engineering, Data Science and Engineering, and Design and Multimedia with the soft and hard skills necessary for their entry into the job market.
Altice Labs was present on March 21, with significant participation from more than 80 students, providing a dynamic environment conducive to networking and idea exchange between companies and students. The participation of Eduardo Vicente from the Operations Support Systems department was essential at the Altice Labs stand, as he had the opportunity to share his valuable insights about his experience in the organization with the students, further enriching the event.
