Electrical and Computer Engineering Days (JEEC)
The 24th edition of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Days (JEEC) was held on February 20th and featured the participation of Altice Labs’ Human Resources team.
Notably, Fernando Morgado from Altice Labs’ Innovation and Digital Strategy department participated dynamically, showcasing various equipment and demonstrators.
The JEEC took place at the Técnico Innovation Center (TIC) and is known for being an event focused on technology, science, and engineering. Organized by students from the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), these Days are one of the largest technology conferences held at the University of Lisbon.
DETIConnect
On February 21st, Altice Labs participated as the Main Sponsor at DETIConnect. This event, aimed at bringing university students closer to the national business sector, was significant for Altice Labs, which had the opportunity to present itself and highlight the career opportunities it offers. Six interviews were conducted, and interactions were held with 34 students from various engineering fields. Additionally, there was room to discuss the various Internship Programs we offer to students, as well as the Genius Program, in partnership with Inova-Ria, providing participants with a deeper insight into the available professional development opportunities.
One of the most notable moments of the event was a lecture titled “The Evolution of Artificial Intelligence in Action in the Customer Service Area” delivered by Sara Furão from Altice Labs’ Management of Network and Platform Services department, focusing on Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. The lecture provided 17 students with a deeper understanding of the latest changes and developments in this area, highlighting how BOTSchool has incorporated them. Additionally, the fundamental role of AI tools in the daily operations of telecommunications operators and other related services was emphasized.

3rd Edition of UTAD SUMMIT
Altice Labs participated in the 3rd edition of the UTAD SUMMIT on February 27th, with the involvement of employees Filipe Cabral Pinto and Tiago Lameirão, both from Altice Labs’ Innovation and Digital Strategy department. This fair, held at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, brought together students and companies in an event dedicated to promoting professional and academic opportunities.
Altice Labs had the opportunity to interact with a diverse audience of 45 students, both undergraduate and master’s, from Computer and Electrical Engineering. The event also provided a conducive environment for networking and sparked interest in summer internships, professional, and academic opportunities.
By facilitating interaction between students and companies, the UTAD SUMMIT continues to play a crucial role in preparing and integrating students into the job market. The presence of Altice Labs, a leading company in the market, added value by creating a favorable moment for students to better understand the professional environment and career opportunities in the technology and telecommunications sector.
