Altice Labs participated in the INESC TEC documentary “Serious Games – Playing for good causes” through the interview of Fausto de Carvalho relating to the Online-Gym project.
This documentary was recently displayed in RTP3 and RTP International and is also available on the Internet.
Online-Gym born from an internal idea that was developed and evolved into a project of 2013-2014 Innovation Plan, addressing low-cost technology for capture and real-time movement synchronization without the use of markers (markerless mocap). This approach was applied to a scenario of geographically dispersed users, in a distributed virtual gym logic, having been built and tested a prototype based on virtual reality immersive 3D environment.
