On the 4th June, the Oi Play 2.0 service was officially launched during a conference in São Paulo, Brazil, which was present Bernardo Winik, vice president of the commercial area and the director of Marketing, Roberto Guenzburger. Open Labs was invited to the event and was represented by the Executive Director Paulo Firmeza and the head of the video area, João Ricardo Silva.

Oi Play is a project that involved Digital, Internet and Television management teams from Altice Labs and the Open Labs TV business unit, with the goal of providing an advanced OTT solution for Oi.

In addition to strengthening strategy for Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) broadband service, Oi also showed its approach to the video service, considering the convergent IPTV offer, but with Over-The-Top (OTT), during the conference. The operator has renewed the Oi Play platform, namely new design, and it now brings more content and integration with several on-demand and linear programming services. But the big difference is that it will also be available to non pay TV subscribers and it can be customized, something that is different from the traditional service.

Also with the goal of reinforcing its commercial performance, the operator has launched a new version of Oi Play, an online video platform available on the web or in the app. The new version, with an intuitive interface, has grown in programming and brought more autonomy for the client, who can customize the content. It also allows the rental of titles and access to pay TV channels, including the open programming of some partners. All with a single login, that is, without authentication on each of the gadgets that you want to watch.
