MEO has launched a MEO Go application for Windows 10, the latest Microsoft operating system, becoming the first television operator in Portugal with an app dedicated to this system.

This version of MEO Go, developed in partnership between the PT Inovação, MEO and Microsoft, has been designed from scratch for the new Microsoft operating system, adding to the MEO Go applications already available for Android, Apple iOS, Windows Phone and Windows 8. MEO thus becomes the largest telecommunications operator with presence in various mobile operating systems.

In its new version for Windows 10, it will be available on Meo Go the main features of the service and the most valued by users, in what was a major concern of MEO development and product teams who always aimed to maintain a converged and integrated experience between the various platforms:

– Direct TV with the main channels of all topics including general channels (RTP 1, RTP 2, SIC, TVI) and information channels (SIC Notícias, TVI 24, RTP Informação), other content, such as movies and series (Hollywood , AXN channels, FOX channels), for the children’s segment (Disney channels, Cartoon Network, Panda), sport (A Bola TV, EuroSport channels, SPORT TV channels, BTV), among others;

– Automatic recordings with thousands of programs recorded in the last 7 days to see at any time;

– Video Club, with the possibility to continue to watch the rented movies on TV or rent new movies for 48 hours and watch without limit;;

– TV guide, complete schedule of all channels available on Meo TV service, with the possibility to remotely record in MEOBox.

The new Microsoft operating system will be available on the internet for free download on compatible devices with Windows 7, 8 and 8.1. With Windows 10, arrives universal applications that can be installed on any Windows-compatible device, from a single store. This is the case of MEO Go, which takes advantage of this new platform, offering a unique experience for the user, regardless of the device used.

Initially, the application will be optimized for computers and tablet and then, for the remaining equipment, such as smartphones and phablets.

The evolution of MEO GO is being guided from the launch of the service in 2011, for innovation and pioneering. Thanks to the joint development work between PT Inovação and Microsoft, MEO GO was the first multi-platform television service in Portugal to offer an application for Windows Phone (2011) and Windows 8 (2012) and providing access to automatic recordings (2013).

This announcement, framed in the release of Windows 10 in Portugal itself, strengthens the historical partnership between Portugal Telecom and Microsoft, confirming the interest of MEO to increase its presence ever more distinctive and relevant on the Windows platform.
