The Marine Technologies School visited Altice Labs on the 9th January 2018.
This study visit to Altice Labs was attended by trainers and students of the Communications Officials Specialization Course, and its main purpose was to recognize the company’s activities in Telecommunications Research and Development.
Besides the reception , Arnaldo Santos from the Business Development Direction presented Altice Labs, its history, vision and mission, the business areas, some of the projects currently under development, the value of its laboratories and the culture of innovation that involves it.
This was followed by a guided tour to the Altice Labs campus, with particular emphasis on Network Systems, with a visit to the Development, Prototyping and Testing Labs presented by José Machado, António Melo and Ricardo Cunha, and to the Digital, Internet and Television services, with a demonstration of SmartAL by the team of Vitor Simões Ribeiro.
Future Labs was also visited with a demonstration of new prototypes such as the Smart Mirror, the Ultra TV solution and the latency impact demonstrator in future network applications, namely, 5G.
