Altice Labs has innovation at its core, and as such, a new challenge was launched in November to all employees where they could unleash their imagination and put all their creativity into action. The idea behind this challenge, ReBoot”h”, was to turn a phone booth into something original and innovative, such as a work of art with something technological or not, to be used on campus.

On the 13th December, after submitting the applications, the various candidates presented their work, either on a mock-up or drawing, to a jury consisting of one person from each Altice Labs department and the general manager, who evaluated all the projects in the competition, according to the criteria of creativity, quality, originality, form of expression and communication of ideas at the presentation.

On the 19th December, at the Altice Labs Christmas dinner, the ranking of the candidate projects was presented and the project that won the first place was the THRDIS team, whose members are Fausto de Carvalho, from the Technology and Innovation Strategy department, and Ricardo Machado from the Digital, Internet and Television department. The THRDIS project proposes to reboot”h” the phone booth into an interactive 360° immersive video viewing system without the need for a headset, glasses or similar devices. The visitor will feel transported to the control of a vehicle with a wide view to the three-dimensional scenario from the vast library of videos available for virtual reality headsets.
