The Junior Achievement Portugal (JAP) is a nonprofit organization that “develops entrepreneurship, the taste for risks, creativity, responsibility, initiative and innovation through programs adapted to each education cycle in order to encourage and help students to apply their capacities and explore their talent, promoting the quantitative and qualitative increase of entrepreneurial initiatives.

In the context of the Junior Achievement awards, PT Foundation, represented by the CEO from Portugal Telecom, Engineer Paulo Neves, provided a day visit to Altice Labs to the winning team composed of three young students with high potential.

Francisco Rodrigues, Francisco Cruz and Luís Carrasqueiro visited Altice Labs on the 8th July 2016. In this visit, Arnaldo Santos from the Communication Department and Ana Patrícia Monteiro from the Innovation Department presented the company and its innovation ecosystem, in particular.

These three young students had direct contact with the solutions and products developed at Altice Labs, namely in the Interactive TV, Museum, Homologation Laboratory, HW Production Laboratory and Climatic Testing Laboratory areas.

According to Arnaldo Santos, “these youngsters who revealed a huge potential and a high capacity for entrepreneurship got to know closely the best of what is being made in terms of technological innovation in Portugal and expressed their enthusiasm and admiration for the existence of a RDI Center of this dimension in Portugal”. “They took from Altice Labs a real vision of the business, some doubts were clarified and, mainly, the recognition of their value and commitment”, adds Ana Patrícia Monteiro.
