These three companies had the largest number of requests for national invention published in 2013, a year in which patent registration grew 8%.
In 2013 Hovione, Novadelta and PT Inovação each published four requests for national invention, in a year when INPI (National Institute of Industrial Property) received a total of 867 invention requests. On the same list of companies, which was made available to TeK by the Institute, are names such as YDreams, which published three invention requests last year, as well as companies from several other areas: construction, architecture, industry or software.
The Top 3 of national companies with greatest activity regarding patenting last year included the pharmaceutical sector, industry (Novadelta belongs to the Nabeiro Group) and IT, where PT Inovação has its core business.
In 2012, the Portuguese pharmaceutical group Hovione integrated the same list with the largest number of registered inventions. The Nabeiro Group was also on top 10, but represented by another of its companies: Tecnidelta.
By 2013 the INPI received a total of 4.640 patenting requests. Besides the 867 national requests, there were 3.773 European patenting requests. Contrary to the tendency observed in national patenting requests, the institute registered less 0.2% of European requests when compared to the previous year.
