On the 30th of April, Future Labs organized another “Introduction to Unity” workshop. Due to the current sanitary restrictions, this workshop was carried out through the “Teams” platform, with the participation of 15 colleagues.

Integrated in the activities of Future Labs, the purpose of this workshop was to provide to those interested in the subject some basic knowledge about this tool, namely the manipulation of 3D objects, texture creation, logic and animation.

The host of this session was our colleague Ricardo Jorge Machado from the Digital, Internet and Television Department.

After a short theoretical intervention to introduce the theme, the remaining time was used to develop a small project in each of the participants’ machines. The work was based on the construction of a game, which included a race track with obstacles and a car to drive through that same track.

The result of the work of some of the participants can be seen at https://ricardo-j-machado.github.io/workshop-unity-games/. The vehicles can be driven using the navigation keys “up, down, left, right”.
