DISCRETION Project: Altice Labs participates in Test Readiness Review at IT Aveiro

On October 23^rd, the “Test Readiness Review” of the DISCRETION project, in which Altice Labs participates, was held at the Aveiro Telecommunications Institute.

At this event, the functional capability of the prototype of a quantum key distribution (QKD) network was officially demonstrated, with the presence of Altice Labs representatives Rui Calé and Miguel Freitas, from Collaborative R&D – Innovation Strategy and Communication department.

During the demonstration, the application of this technology was presented in two use cases developed within the project’s scope: key distribution between cipher machines and key distribution between Software Defined Radios (SDR) networks.

In addition to the participants and various project stakeholders, the event was attended by Rear Admiral Cancela Roque, head of the Center for Communications and Information, Cyberspace, and Space at the EMGFA.
