SmartAL is an Altice Labs’ telemonitoring and teleconsultation tool where patients, relatives and caregivers can monitor the health status of the patient in real time.

The core functionality of the tool consists in collecting data from clinical (e.g. oximeter, thermometer, blood pressure meter, glycometer) and non-clinical (e.g. personal band) devices and displaying it to users. The values collected are compared with limits previously configured by healthcare professionals and, if outside the limits, notifications that can be sent to users and caregivers are generated.

Besides telemonitoring, SmartAL also allows teleconsultations, including simple questionnaires to assess the patient’s condition and providing videos to assist in the use of clinical equipment or disease monitoring, as well as to make recommendations.

The possibility of voice interaction was added to the IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) application of SmartAL, allowing users who are MEO customers and have a STB (Set-Top-Box) to access the most used functionalities on TV through the MEO Remote application or a remote control with microphone. This interface allows: viewing the measure history, adding manual measures, viewing alerts and notifications, answering questionnaires and watching help videos.
