The CTO of Altice Group, Bruno Zerbib, visited Altice Labs on the 5th April 2017, along with PT CTO, Alexandre Fonseca.

After the initial session where Alcino Lavrador presented the history, achieved milestones, organization, innovation ecosystem, product and market strategy and main challenges, several sessions were held to present in more detail the different competence areas and their respective teams.

In the session dedicated to the technological coordination and innovation management model, after the process of technological coordination and harmonization and systems development, there were shown the evolution lines in SDN / NFV with impact on Altice Labs products, as well as projects results that will enrich the product portfolio roadmap. As an example, the SONATA, Superfluidity, SELFNET and VNFaaService projects were highlighted, as well as the internal projects in the evolution to 5G architecture and network virtualization.

In the DIT – Digital, Internet and Television Direction innovative developments were presented, some of them patented, in the scope of television, e-health, payments, Advertising and Personal Cloud.

In the visit to the Network Systems, the end-to-end development model was presented, from idea to design, development, test, industrialization and support. All the laboratories in this area were visited. In the products, the highlight was for FTTH and GPON / NGPON2 infrastructures.

In the Operations Support Systems, after presenting the current NOSSIS architecture and its evolution to SDN / NFV, demonstrations of the Netwin, Altaia, NetQ and NA products were performed.

In the Network Systems and Protocols Direction the products and solutions portfolio was presented, and a later session was scheduled to detail each of the products.

On the morning of the 6th April, Bruno Zerbib also met with PT at the Altice Labs facilities, where he was presented to the DEO, DIT and DCY Directions.

Bruno Zerbib also visited Future Labs, where he had contact with some experimental projects in the area of ​​alternative models of interaction with applications, robotics, drones applications, 3D printing, smart homes and IoT.

In the end, Bruno Zerbib left the following message: “I wanted to thank you and your teams for organizing this trip to Altice Labs Portugal. I have to say I was impressed with the depth, breadth and passion from the engineers I have met.
