The final audit of the BESOS project – Building Energy Decision Support Systems for Smart Cities was held in Barcelona.

The main objective was to value existing equipment and infrastructures with a decision support system that would enable the coordinated management of energy systems and at the same time provide the citizen with information to promote sustainability and energy efficiency.

It was necessary to integrate different equipment from different manufacturers, and to create a common information model to give semantics to the collected data. The information collected within the project was analyzed by an energy management platform that calculated and delivered a set of KPIs associated with the information to a set of applications. The main developments of the project were carried out on existing systems in the municipalities of Lisbon and Barcelona.

Altice Labs led the architecture work and collaborated in the integration of energy management systems of three municipal buildings, the municipal electric vehicle fleet and the alarm component associated with public lighting.

Altice Labs has also developed a mobile application to promote the sustainable use of energy in schools.

The main results were presented and discussed with the auditors, and the project was successfully completed.
