On the 22nd October, Altice Labs marked its presence at Aveiro City Race, the first Orientation sports event organized in the city centre, an initiative of Estarreja Orientation Club and Aveiro City Hall.

On a Saturday evening, the Ria Sunset Race took place, a race stage supported by Altice Labs, with departures near the Municipal Library, the first part in the streets of Bairro da Beira-Mar, and after the Bridges passage, a second part through the surrounding area of the Sustainability Park and around the Aveiro Museum area, finishing at the Republic Square, near the Town Hall.

This stage had around 300 participants, distributed across 13 competition classes and 5 open classes to the general public, allowing a competition side-by-side with some of the best Urban Orientation national Sprinters and some participants that never experienced this sports modality had trails appropriate to their technical and physical experience and to each of their goals.

With a participation in the Open Corporate’s open class, specially thought for companies’ participation, 27 employees and invitees from Altice Labs made, individually or with a group, a race track with 20 control points and 3900m by the shortest route, using only the supplied map and optionally a compass,  and showed their good mood, race pace and great Orientation sense in the streets of Aveiro.

The results can be seen here.
