The AAL4ALL (Ambient Assisted Living for all) project prototype was shown in the general project meeting which was held last week at the headquarters of PT Inovação e Sistemas in Aveiro.

PT Inovação e Sistemas participation on the project ensures the integration of the AAL ecosystem on MEO platform, including the development of OSGi bundles for managing sensor installation lifecycle on a MEO client RGW and repository on PT network, and also the development of the client’s graphical user interface  (PF application) via Mediaroom platform. The prototype’s usability test phase will soon begin with real live users from a Portuguese nursing home.

The AAL4ALL is a 5 year project funded by QREN and led by Microsoft Portugal which gathers 34 Portuguese organizations, including public institutions, industry, user organizations and R&D institutions. The project’s mission is the development of an innovative AAL technology ecosystem for improving health and safety monitoring conditions of elderly and/or people with physical or psychological limitations, whether living in their own homes or supporting institutions, also covering temporary mobility situations. Through the use of ICT, this ecosystem enables an early identification and resolution of health situations thus changing the relationship between this particular population group and health institutions also allowing a clear reduction of costs.
