Altice Labs, as partner of the H2020 reTHINK project, was the sponsor of TADSummit 2016, one of the most important international events in the Telecom Applications area, which took place on the 15th and 16th November, in Lisbon.
TADSummit is a grass roots initiative focused on building the telecom application development ecosystem to help businesses, developers, non-coders, really anyone who is interested to use telecom capabilities in its applications, services and business processes. Telecoms are a fundamental capacity, and now being programmable, can revolutionize the industries.
Under the main theme “The Industrialization of Telecom Application Development”, the conference addressed the most important topics to the telecom applications market including “Contextual Communications”, “Conversational CRM and BOTs”, “M2M and IoT without the hype”, “Telecom APIs and WebRTC”, “Application-to-person revolution”, “Enterprise Telecom Apps”, etc. One of the sessions that stood out was “reTHINK: Decentralised Communications”, coordinated by Altice Labs, with an introduction to Decentralized Communications and a discussion about the main business opportunities offered by this new concept.
The reTHINK project is an H2020 project funded by the European Commission which has as a main goal to design and develop a new and revolutionary decentralized communications framework that challenges the current dominance by Web giants providing more economical sustainability to startups even if they’re focused in small sized market segments. “Write once, deploy anywhere”along with innovative interoperability mechanisms that don’t require the use of protocols or API’s standards, these are some of reTHINK’s features that allow more freedom to developers and service providers to focus on the users’ real needs. With reTHINK’s Framework, the final user can decide to whom he can trust his identity and personal data regardless of his services provider.
