On the 16th January, the first workshop of the Smart Cities Tour 2019 was held in Faro, under the theme “Economy and Technological Innovation”.
The Smart Cities Tour 2019 is a national initiative organized by the National Association of Portuguese Municipalities through the Intelligent Cities Section and in partnership with NOVA Cidade.
This initiative hosts 7 thematic workshops that will cover, throughout the year, several cities of the country, in which the great opportunities of transformation, powered by IoT technology, on the modernization and competitiveness of the municipalities will be focused.
For the third consecutive time, Altice Portugal is the technological partner, represented by Altice Labs and PT Empresas, in these seminars.
The first workshop “Economy and Technological Innovation” was held in Faro, on the 16th January, and had the participation of Pedro Carvalho and Filipe Cabral Pinto, from the Technological Coordination and Innovation department of Altice Labs.
During the SC Tour, several works developed in the context of the participation in Research and Innovation projects were shown at the Altice Labs’ stand.
Worth of mention, the City Governance Center demonstration that allows the visualization of city data, the parameterization of rules and performance in the different urban space infrastructures, in order to promote a urban space management based on knowledge.
The mobile application developed in the context of the Sharing Cities project was also presented and it aims to promote the creation of healthy habits in the population using the concepts of gamification and social market, in order to create a more environmentally friendly city.
The event had a plenary meeting, in which Altice Labs made a presentation on the theme “Promoting an Open Innovation Ecosystem”, which described the goals and offers of Altice Labs and PT Empresas in the area of Innovation.
