On the 12th June, Altice Labs received a group of 28 students from the 10th grade of the Computer Systems Management and Programming Technician Professional Course of Penafiel Secondary School, which had the opportunity to know some of the most representative sites and projects for the students.
During this visit, Ricardo Ferreira, from the Business Development and Support department, presented the company, followed by an overview of the ABC product by José Miguel Freitas, from the Network and Platform Service department, culminating in a guided tour through the campus of Altice Labs, the latest technological developments.
On behalf of the group, Professor Helena Barbosa thanked Altice Labs for the excellent visit: “everything went perfectly, and I would like to emphasize the professionalism and the sympathy of all the accompanying monitors, who were always attentive so that nothing would fail. I also want to highlight the good work of the organizing team that has worked hard and committed from the first moment we come into contact, showing unparalleled readiness and effectiveness. This study visit was the first, in the technical area, of our students of the 10th grade of the Programming of Information Systems Technician Professional Course. We have fully covered content that is taught in the different disciplines in real context – Operating Systems, Computer Networks, Programming of Computer Systems, Computer Architecture and Information and Communication Technologies. After the visit the students spoke about it, having considered that it had been very enriching since they were able to see areas of application in the context of work of their academic course. To all who have received us we leave a deep thank you.“

On the 18th June, Altice Labs received a group of 40 students from the 10th and 11th grades of the Computer Systems Management and Programming Technician Professional Course of the Carvalhos Secondary School, which had the opportunity to know some of the technological projects and solutions developed by Altice Labs.
During this visit, Paulo Margaça, from the Innovation and Technology Strategy department, presented the company, followed by an overview of the Network and Platform Services portfolio and the BOTSchool platform by José Fernandes; culminating in an overview of the Netwin product, headed by Ricardo Cadime, from Operations Support Systems. Although it was a visit to the computing science area, the Prototypes Development Laboratory and Future Labs also aroused the interest of the students. They said that it was a well organized visit with a very wide range of interest. “I really liked the Laboratory of the Future and all the projects presented there and the hardware part, namely the whole construction of the boards. One day I would like to work here, it would be an incredible experience.“
It was the second time teachers visited Altice Labs and this year was a much more enriching visit, stating that “it is very important students have the notion of reality, IT has several aspects and here they have been able to see the many applications of it. Perceiving also and having other perspective of what is behind the mere use of the computer is very important for students.“
