Luís Cortesão, from Altice Labs’ Technology and Innovation Strategy department, presented a seminar at the Coimbra Institute of Engineering (ISEC) entitled “AI/ML and Big Data@Altice Labs”. This seminar was held in the context of the Industrial Seminars course unit of the Master degree in Informatics and Systems, at the invitation of Professor João Cunha from ISEC.
In the seminar, Luís Cortesão talked about the impact of Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning and Big Data technologies in the product evolution strategy of Altice Labs. Following a brief presentation of the state-of-the-art of the different AI and Big Data technologies, with a special focus on machine learning processes and their articulation with the Data Science discipline, a description of ongoing use cases was made and how the associated methodology allows to support its development.
The presentation also served as a theme for a work around the Machine Learning theme, to be done by the students of the master, whose purpose was to evaluate the research, collaboration and communication skills.
