Strengthening the link that Altice Labs maintains with the various academic institutions of higher education at the national level, Altice Labs was present at two representative and relevant events for the recruitment of high potential  young people for RDI projects seeking areas to develop their Master’s conclusion theses: JOIN’2018 – XVI Conference of Computer Science at the University of Minho, 11th June, and Open Day for Students + Teachers@Deti at the University of Aveiro, 12th June. At the University of Minho, Altice Labs also had the representation of the GENIUS grantee Carlos Lopes (Development and Implementation of Network Systems) in a presentation of a Business pitch.

More than a hundred students visited the Altice Labs booth and actively sought to know their offer on available projects. About 50% agreed to answer a survey about their perception of Altice Labs and their preference in terms of technical areas. Here are the main results:

– 46% say that Altice Labs proposes projects that are ambitious and 61% consider it a company that stands for challenges and constant learning.
– 98% of respondents would be enthusiastic and proud to receive a proposal from Altice Labs.
– Web application development continues to lead the way with 14% of choices, followed by Mobile Application Development with 11% and SmartCities Applications, Big Data and Analytics and Data Science, Machine Learning and Neural Networks (AI) the three with 8% of preferences.

This population consisted of 39% of Computer Engineering Master students and 33% of Electronic Engineering and Telecommunications Integrated Master students. The remaining students were from the Computer Engineering and Telematics Integrated Master and from the Computer Science Degree. 65% of these students were between the 4th and 5th years.
