ISCTE is promoting an initiative called “AI Business Hub” that aims to promote and share scientific knowledge in the field of artificial intelligence and accelerate business. Following this activity, an online session on “Virtual Assistant Enhancing business and corporate responsibility in pandemic times” took place on the 25th of June, at 6:30 pm, with the participation of Jorge Miguel Sousa, from Altice Labs’ Network Services and Platforms department.
Since 1950, Altice Labs has been shaping the future of technology, allowing communication service providers and companies to offer advanced and differentiated services to their customers and users. Present with innovative solutions on several continents, its activity today extends well beyond the group in which it operates. Jorge Miguel Sousa started his presentation with the latest developments that have been made in the area of virtual assistants, highlighting the BOTSchool platform.
BOTSchool is a platform to create Virtual Assistants (BOTs) that can be used for the most diverse purposes of a company, from Support, to Purchasing Assistant, Self-Care, Management Assistant, among others. It uses Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning techniques to provide a more intelligent and humanized conversation experience.
Jorge Miguel Sousa also presented his business model, based on SaaS, its simplicity of use, the market perspectives and the growth potential of using BOTSchool.
His intervention ended by presenting some BOTSchool uses cases, highlighting its integration with SNS24, with which it was possible to create in record time a Virtual Assistant to support the SNS24 line during the COVID-19 pandemic. The BOT was trained and prepared to respond through this line and thus support the health professionals in the diagnosis and rapid referral of patients.
Two other uses presented were: one in the MEO call center, in which a BOT currently responds to certain customer requests; and another in the MEO Remote application, where it is possible to place orders on the MEO app by voice.
After the Q&A session moderated by Luís Filipe and Bernardo Pinto, responsible for the “AI Business Hub of ISCTE Executive Education”, this session ended with highlight on the advantage of using BOTSchool, namely, how this platform is very interesting for companies, since it is a product that takes advantage of the latest technologies in the area of Artificial Intelligence, and that applies them in various scenarios to respond to the various needs of the market.
