On September 28th and 29th, the Fórum Cultural de Alcochete hosted the bright minds of the ‘Android world’ with the third edition of Droidcon Lisboa. Altice Labs was present at this event, providing an opportunity for all participants to learn from experts from major companies such as Google, Spotify, Twitter, and Meta (owner of Facebook and Instagram). Participants engaged in conferences and workshops covering several aspects of the technological world.

Romeu Gomes, from the Innovation Strategy and Digital department, represented Altice Labs at Droidcon Lisboa by delivering a presentation on reverse engineering in Android applications. Reverse engineering is a practice in Android application development that offers several benefits to developers, ranging from gaining a detailed understanding of how existing applications work to detecting possible security threats. The presentation focused on showing some reasons why someone would perform reverse engineering in Android applications and how it could be done. It the end, some challenges and vulnerabilities found during the reverse engineering process were discussed.
