Altice Labs was present at the SIRESP Bootcamp, which took place in Algarve between November 20 and 24, in partnership with MEO Empresas and OneSource.
The main goal of the event was to provide civil protection organizations (security forces, emergency responders, emergency services) with a demonstration of new technological solutions in operational scenarios of interest, with a view to their evaluation and operational validation. This allows feedback to the industry, thus fostering the development of better technological solutions.
With the support of OneSource, Altice Labs’ partner in the H2020 5G-EPICENTRE project, several examples of services and use cases for situational awareness were demonstrated using the Mobitrust platform. These demonstrations included the use of drones, augmented reality, and virtual reality glasses, as well as personal kits for situational monitoring/location/information, active video surveillance equipment, and respective command and control center platforms.
Altice Labs’ participation focused on the development and demonstration of an integration scenario between 5G and Tetra technologies. Using the BOTSchool platform, it was shown how, from a Tetra terminal, it is possible to establish voice communication with the BOT and thus obtain information about the operatives in the field using voice communication only, in scenarios where this is the sole available form of communication.
