Altice Labs Participates in Quantum Tech Day

Oh March 13^th, Quantum Tech Day was held at the Telecommunications Institute of the University of Aveiro.

This event was organized by the Quantum Communications research group to celebrate the 50^th anniversary of the Electronics, Telecommunications and Computing Department of the University of Aveiro.

Francisco Fontes e Rui Calé, from Altice Labs’ Innovation Strategy and Digital department, attended this event, which brought together the Secretary of State for Digitalization and Administrative Modernization, Mário Campolargo; the General Manager of the National Security Office, Gameiro Marques; the rector of the University of Aveiro, Paulo Jorge Ferreira; among other academic and IT personalities.

At this event, the present and future of Quantum Information Technologies and the National Quantum Network were debated. Altice Labs participates in two important projects in this area: DISCRETION and PTQCI. The latter is a national project to implement a secure network that – through quantum technologies – will interconnect multiple state entities. For this, it will rely on the results of DISCRETION, a European defense project that explores these technologies.
