We watch daily news about 5G technology, but why is there a sudden interest in this technology, applied to industrial processes? In fact, 5G promises to solve several challenges that Industry 4.0 has made even more visible and, in many situations, limits its spread. This was the motto for an online session on “Let’s Talk About Tech – 5G Technology” that took place on November 24th in order to clarify the reality of 5G, exploring possible use cases, currently under study worldwide, with the objective of discovering the market potential that telecommunications operators see in this future business area.
Isabel Borges form the Technology and Innovation Strategy department of Altice Labs was a speaker at this session where she shared Altice Labs’ vision on the use of private 5G networks in an industrial context, not only as a supplier of this connectivity, but as a supplier of a set of differentiating services that bring value to the customer.
