On the 16th of September, Altice Labs participated in the MAP-Tele 2022 workshop, which took place at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto. The workshop is part of the PhD MAP-Tele Program in Telecommunications, a joint initiative of the Universities of Minho, Aveiro and Porto.

This year’s edition included the presentation of ongoing work in the scope of the MAP-tele program, and also included keynotes on image processing and SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) technologies, by Profs. Monson Hayes (George Mason University) and Sérgio Cunha (FEUP), respectively.

The final part of the workshop, entitled “Companies Insights” was focused on the industry vision about the opportunities and challenges of “Beyond 5G” technologies and had the participation of Altice Labs, Bosch and Optare. Altice Labs was represented by Jorge Carapinha, from the company’s Innovation Strategy and Digital department, who made a technical presentation on  the theme “5G beyond B2C: Altice Labs experience”, focusing on the description of Altice Labs’ experimental activities in 5G technologies and services. The presentation began by describing the technological evolutions provided by 5G and its impact on new B2B business models based on private networks. The session concluded with a panel discussion.
