On the 26th of May, Madeira hosted the conference “Technology: the next generation”, an initiative of Altice Empreas in partnership with Jornal da Madeira (JM). This event brought together several renowned speakers to talk about the trends of the next technological generation, in key sectors such as security, tourism, smart cities and health, and had debates divided into four major areas.

João Paulo Firmeza, head of Digital, Internet and Television at Altice Labs, concluded the fourth and last debate of the conference by talking about the potential of 5G and technologies in general, which can also be leveraged in healthcare. The responsible reiterated the goal of helping health services to act with greater quality and exemplified with projects of vehicles equipped with 5G, which allow them to have a connection to health professionals. “We are boosting the use of technology to save lives and improve health resources,” he said.

It should also be noted that an exhibition was set up on this day, which was attended by employees of the Altice Labs Madeira office.
