A workshop on the H2020-SliceNet project related to cognitive management (based in AI) of network slices (dedicated virtual network) in 5G networks was held in Barcelona from the 23rd to 24th January.

The main purpose of this project is to design and implement an operational management platform using artificial intelligence (Cognitive Network Slice Management) for 5G environments with network slices support.

The project is in the second year of execution and is in the midst of software integration and prototype construction to demonstrate in the third quarter of 2019.

Altice Labs, through its Operations Support Systems (OSS) and Technological Coordination and Exploratory Innovation (CTI) departments, has as main goal to prototype the Cognitive Network Slice Management solution by exercising a Smart-Grid Self-Healing usecase with Efacec.

Guilherme Cardoso, Nuno Henriques and Pedro Neves represented Altice Labs in the technological discussion/integration sessions in the area of network failure prediction, autonomous management tactics/policies and provision of network slices in 5G environments.

This event also had a plenary meeting with all the consortium members where the main goals for 2019 were discussed.
