At the invitation of Instituto Politécnico de Viseu – IPV, Altice Labs made a lecture on the Internet of Things – IoT to students of the 1st year of the Master’s Degree in “Technologies and Service Management”.

Isabel Borges, from Altice Labs’ Technological Coordination and Innovation department, presented the company and addressed the topic of IoT, followed by a practical component to illustrate some examples and real demonstrations. In this context, the students got to work and implemented a system for temperature measurement using Arduino.

A presentation and demonstration of the end-of-course project carried out by student José Durães, related to the IoT theme with the connectivity supported by the new network technology called NB-IoT (Narrowband IoT) was also made.

This initiative is part of the innovation management process where the proximity to universities is a key factor.
