The 5th plenary meeting of the SELFNET project, financed by the European Commission in the context of the H2020 project, took place in Bad Kreuznach, Germany, in July.
The SELFNET project, which runs from July 2015 to June 2018, addresses the theme of Self-Organizing Networks (SON) in 5G environments in a paradigm based on NFV/SDN.
The involvement of Altice Labs in the project focuses on the definition of the global architecture and also on the specification (and implementation) of the aggregation/correlation and action/orchestration components.
Altice Labs’ activities in this project are totally aligned with the products roadmap of the OSS business area. Specifically, in the area of aggregation/correlation the ALTAIA product evolution is being worked on and in the area of action/orchestration the NA product evolution is being worked on for functional contexts that are able to deal with the NFV/SDN paradigm.
As a result of this alignment, Altice Labs is being represented in this meeting by Manuel Florêncio from the ALTAIA/OSS team, who has been actively contributing in the discussions about the evolution/integration of ALTAIA in this new reality. In the next meeting it’s also expected the participation of a colleague from the NA/OSS team to start the implementation phase.
Pedro Neves, from the CTI department, also participated.
