For the 4th consecutive year, Altice Labs was the Main Sponsor of TechDays Aveiro, an event that took place on the 10th, 11th and 12th October, at the Exhibition Park in Aveiro.

At TechDays Aveiro 2019, Altice Labs focused its participation on innovation themes with impact on society, culminating in a vision of technology that allows to potentiate the same impact, arranged in 4 technological spaces: Enabling Digital Territories; Enabling Digital Lifestyle; Enabling Digital Enterprises; and Technology Behind the Scenes.

Enabling Digital Territories, an area dedicated to life in society, featured some of the technology applications with impact on the improvement of everyday life, such as the Aveiro STEAM City project, a Winegrid pilot, an Apis Tech pilot and a project with Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro University / Globaltronic and Quinta do Crasto, all integrated with Altice Labs City Gateway.

The Enabling Digital Lifestyle area, dedicated to maximizing the advantages we take individually from technology, presented some projects to improve people’s lives, achieved through technological advances, whether at home or at school, such as the new Fiber Gateway with Wi-Fi 6, Smart Mesh Wi-Fi, Smartly and FITescola.

In the Enabling Digital Enterprises area, there were demonstrations designed to enhance the growth of digitalization and cloud usage in enterprises, such as BotSchool and a demonstration of the 5G network in a mobile scenario.

Altice Labs has lifted the veil on technology that enables the scenarios illustrated in the areas previously presented, in a space dedicated to show what goes on behind the scenes and what supports all digital advances through projects/products such as the NB-IoT probe, the City Gateway, the OLT2T0 + FGW Gen8 and the network alarm prediction mechanisms.

To Alcino Lavrador, General Manager of Altice Labs, “TechDays Aveiro is the largest national technology stage and an agent for innovation creation in the service of life quality and economic development. This is the opportunity for Altice Labs, its main sponsor, to enhance the importance given to local partnerships in the sustainability of its innovation ecosystem”.

Also presented at this event was the new Fiber GateWay Wi-Fi 6 router, developed by Altice Labs, a new generation equipment with innovative technology and a solution for a near future, the Smart Mesh Wi-Fi, that will allow a new freedom in the Internet access inside home as well as a rich Wi-Fi experience. This Fiber Gateway, with an EasyMesh ™ controller, has unique features that are patent-pending, and is supported by RDK-B (Reference Design Kit for Broadband), worldwide.
