In the context of Jornadas Técnico-Científicas 2017, promoted by the Águeda Higher School of Technology and Management (University of Aveiro) and held on the 25th October in Águeda, Pedro Carvalho and Paulo Pereira from Altice Labs, made a presentation entitled “Innovation: from the people to the application, through the processes”.

Entirely dedicated to the theme of innovation, this year’s conferences had several interventions, ranging from innovation in teaching methods and practices to practical cases born in both university labs and business environments.

Pedro Carvalho, from the Technological Coordination and Innovation direction, presented Altice Labs’ history of outstanding innovations and the way innovation is worked and promoted internally. Paulo Pereira, from the Network Services and Platforms direction, having as motto the capacity of innovation value generation, presented some practical and successful cases of Altice Labs regarding service platforms.

The presentation was followed by a moment of discussion where the participants interacted with the panel speakers.

These sessions represent the company’s proximity moments to the academic world, allowing not only to promote Altice Labs but also to attract trainees to different areas.

As a result of this presentation, a curricular internship was formalized in the area of machine learning and whose coordination will be ensured by Mário Moreira from the Technological Coordination and Innovation direction.
