The Broadband Forum (BBF) is one of the communications industry’s leading standards development organizations and has innovation and broadband ecosystem development in its DNA. They are committed to making Broadband faster and smarter in a future broadband ecosystem.

The BBF announced on the 23rd of September 2021, that Altice Labs is one of the first two suppliers to be part of its newly launched BBF.398 Wi-Fi programme. It will aim for service suppliers and device manufacturers to be able to reduce the number of complaints from their customers, on underperforming devices, thanks to the latest testing plan launched by the BBF.

“Altice Labs has successfully deployed FFTx networks across the market over the past decades. The internal network is one of the critical segments that we must take into consideration when we take a deep look into the technical and operational aspects of Quality of Service and Quality of Experience recognized by our end consumers” said Alcino Lavrador, General Manager of Altice Labs. “In our view, the BBF.398 initiative is fulfilling a significant industry and market requirement by positioning the advantages of Wi-Fi 6 performance together with the relevant technical metrics. It is also worth noting that Altice Labs has started in 2019 to deliver a Wi-Fi 6 Gateway Dual Band with significant market impact and with the aim of ensuring the best quality of service and experience for our customers”.
