Altice Labs in a class on the Internet of Things at the University of Aveiro

Filipe Cabral Pinto, from Altice Labs’ Technological Coordination and Innovation department, presented the challenges and opportunities of Internet of Things (IoT) in the digital society, at the invitation of Professor Susana Sargento of the University of Aveiro.

The theme was the revolution promoted by IoT in all fields of activity, from the creation of cities of the future to the new industrial eras.

The role of Communication Service Providers in the response to the new needs of an ever-connected world where people and objects communicate over the Internet, producing and consuming information without restrictions, was discussed with the audience.

Several IoT projects in which Altice Labs has been involved, with particular emphasis on the ongoing CityAction P2020 project, were also presented in this class.

The presentation was made in the context of the IoT Module in the Transversal Competences for Engineering discipline of the Integrated Master in Electronic Engineering and Telecommunications of the University of Aveiro.
